Alice (Alexandra) Anagnostis

Alice (Alexandra) Anagnostis (nee Kallianes), of Toms River, NJ, entered Eternal rest on August 27, 2017.

Born on February 27th, 1925, in Newark, NJ, to the late Louis and Virginia Kallianes, Alice also resided in East Orange, West Orange, South Orange, New Port Richey, FL, and Toms River. Alice was very active in the church community, as a member of the Philoptochos at SS. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, and an active member of the Kali Parea at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Theodore, and her beloved son John, and siblings Ann Juvelis, Christine Lynard, Rita Xenofanes, Theodore Kallianes, Georgia Mallis, and Chris Kallianes. Alice is survived by her sister Katherine Perros. She is also survived by her devoted children: Louis, and his wife Kathy; Paul; Greg, and his wife Patty; Christopher, and his wife Tracy; Chrysanthe Patestos, and her husband Chris. She loved spending time with her thirteen grandchildren: Alexandria Maiorino, Jason Anagnostis, Theodore Patestos, Johnny Anagnostis, Olga Negrin, Daniel Anagnostis, Michael Anagnostis, Eleni Gross, Elena Patestos, Alexandria Anagnostis, Nicholas Patestos, Gregory Anagnostis, and Alexandra Patestos; and great grandchildren: Olivia, Augustine, Will, and Anastasia. Alice enjoyed playing card games and challenging friends and family in games of Scrabble.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church Tree of Life Project in Alice’s name.
